My approach to abstract painting is to have no subject in mind. A piece is artwork is the
product of putting my mind a rest. They begin with intuitive marks and large colours
layers to loosen up. The piece is then rotated, and more layers are added. There is a
transformation in the colour palette and direction of the piece reveals itself as my thoughts and feelings release though paint on the canvas. Details become more
defined, and the vision of the piece becomes clear, at which I put down my brush.
